Summer Dance Camp Background

Ballet Caraïbes Summer Dance & Culture Camp is an exciting, inclusive, and culturally rich Northside Cincinnati summer enrichment camp designed for boys and girls, pre-teens, and teens. This vibrant summer arts and dance program combines dance training, Afro-Caribbean cultural enrichment, storytelling, music, recreation, and creative exploration in a welcoming community-based environment for children and youth.
Participants will explore a wide range of dance styles each week while building skills in ballet, modern/contemporary, Afro-Caribbean dance, tap, and creative movement. Campers will also engage in musical rhythm exploration, arts & crafts, storytelling, cultural activities, and performing arts experiences that encourage creativity, coordination, confidence, teamwork, and self-expression.
Our unique DanceRead and DancePlay programs connect reading, storytelling, imaginative play, and movement to dance, inspiring joyful learning experiences and creative exploration for dancers and non-dancers alike — because every child deserves the opportunity to move, create, learn, and play through the arts.
In addition to dance and cultural activities, campers will enjoy select outdoor enrichment experiences and community-based activities connected to the nearby McKie Recreation area, including sprinkler play, playground time, movie day, picnic gatherings in the Northside park area, and optional pool day experiences. Additional enrichment opportunities may include library storytelling collaborations, community arts experiences, guest artists, and creative field trips, , and participation in Happen, Inc. Open Lab creative experiences. Parent-paid amenity or admission fees may apply for certain recreation or special activities.
The Summer Dance & Culture Camp culminates in a special presentation showcasing each participant’s growth in creativity, movement, cultural awareness, performance skills, teamwork, and self-confidence.
