Description DanceCare, is a specialized small group program (childcare that is
dance-based) which provides dance training combined with care and academic enrichment with a certified teacher in a
pleasant environment, equipped with a dance studio, during the summer
months of June and July. The purpose is to promote quality artistic
development, Reading comprehension (informational and fictional), Math skills and French while encouraging physical activities that
will give children an opportunity to find and develop their hidden
talents, to continue dance training to improve technique and
performance skills, improve Reading, Writing and Math strategies and to just have fun, while receiving child care.
The dance forms offered include Ballet, Modern, Creative Ballet,
Creative movement, Creative dance, Modern, Soft shoe tap, and Caribbean
dance including Salsa and Merenque which may vary from week to week.

Other non
dance-based enrichment activities include Theater, Computer Activities,
Video Production, Nature Walks-Be a Scientist, Choral Singing, Reading
Comprehension Strategies, Wring Process, Dance/Reading Integration, Sewing, Back Yard
Camping and Swimming, Neighborhood Walks, Movie Time, French Language,
Back yard Play Time, occasional Educational TV / Board Games / Video
including Dance-Related Video. Participants also have Free-Time
opportunities for self and ability discovery through kids selected
activities.
Children may bring any personal toys, books and
activities they feel dear to. Parents may send specific activities they
would like their child to work on as well or just inform me of specific
academic skills your child is needs intervention, more practice or
enrichment.
Just Dance Component:
Pre- ballet/ Ballet/Creative, modern, Salsa/ Caribbean introduce students to the basic
vocabulary while integrating play, locomotor movements, students’ interaction
with props to encourage agility, flexibility, coordination, musicality, rhythm,
range of motion, etc. Students have opportunities to discover their movement
potential. They are challenged to execute movements and develop creative
thinking skills along the way. As students move into the next level the focus
is more on developing the fundamentals of classical ballet technique,
increasing vocabulary, becoming more self-discipline and striving for grace, poise

This year's summer DanceCare will run morning and afternoon, Mondays through Fridays.
Immerse
your child in this enriching, caring home experience that offers, along
with childcare(tax deductible), dance training combined with developing
and maintaining literacy skills and divergent thinking for the next
school year, reading, writing, creative theater for TV production,
percussion, computer literacy through learning activities, and lots
more.
DanceCare is one of the best childcare services for children who love to move and also want to improve their academic skills. Which child does not like to move? Which child does not need structured and unstructured movement to stay healthy and develop gross motor and technical skills?
Children may register for for DanceCare 9:15 - 12:00 or to 4:30 PM or just sign up for the dance component 10:15 - 11:00 (3-6 yrs) or 12:30 - 1:30 (7-12 yrs) or our Multi-age workshop from 6 yrs Mondays - Fridays from 2:30 - 4:30 .
Tax Benefit: With this childcare element you can claim this on your taxes. To claim for childcare on your taxes, your child must be registered for the DanceCare component which is one or more weeks for up to 7 weeks.
Early Bird Drop Off Accommodation If you need to drop off
your child earlier than our regular drop off time which is from 8:45 AM,
please contact Flora or add a comment when registering so that we can
discuss it.. An hourly fee is listed, if you need additional hours.
Late Pick Up Accommodation / Policy: Work
ending hours vary for parents, so do not hesitate to let me know if you

you are interested in part-time or full time from 9:15 to 4:30 and have not yet
contacted us, please contact Flora at 541-2608 or 225-8336 to confirm
availability.
Sewing: Children will learn the fundamentals of sewing and
work on various projects including mending any clothing they have that
is reaped but want to keep it. This experience will be integrated with
Reading. Writing and Math. Flora whose experience came from a family of
garment manufacturing in the Caribbean was greatly influenced by her father eye for great details and lines that is also reflected in her dancing. This will cost an additional $30.00 per child for materials. See weekly DanceCare fees here.
Things to Bring:
_packed lunch _shoe for hiking
in the woods (We'll let participants know the days in advance ) can be
packed, if students regularly uses sandals. _dance clothing ( if you
are buying anything, buy white or light pink tights and black or sky
blue leotard. Other colors are fine. _light pink ballet shows (not
bedroom slippers that target sells.) They look light ballet slippers but
they are not. They have no support for the foot and kids can twist their
ankle easily)
Though the program is
semi - structured, I pay attention to the kid's frame of mind each day, recognize their individual needs and
reorganize activities as necessary to enable all children to benefit and grow
to their maximum potential.
This enrichment summer for your child is at your fingertip. Simply register for one or more weeks, up to seven weeks or just register for the dance component. Keep in mind that the dance component all by itself is not tax-deductible.
